Fujifilm GFX 50S was released in 2016. This camera is the first mirrorless camera with a medium format sensor at that time. A medium format camera is a camera that uses a larger sensor than a full frame camera sensor. Like Fuji mirrorless cameras in general, the GFX 50S is equipped with advanced and superior features.
Even the features are not inferior to the latest Fuji series cameras. One of them, the camera is equipped with a large sensor. Thus, imaging capabilities are not in doubt. The device has a rangefinder-style design that is rectangular in shape while the GFX 50S has a DSLR-style camera design. Compared to the previous Fuji mirroless, the GFX 50S camera has a lighter, more compact body.
Fujifilm GFX 50S Camera Body
This mirrorless one has a rangefinder style design. This device has the shape and design like a DSLR camera. This is different from mirrorless in general which is elongated square.
However, despite having a shape and design like a DSLR, the GFX 50S has a body that is more compact and lighter. the device weighs only 1.23 kilograms (with a lens). If not with the lens, the GFX 50s instead weighs only 800 grams.
The body is made of magnesium alloy and the camera dial wheel is made of aluminum. This is what causes this lightweight mirrorless one. GFX 50S has a strong seal so it is waterproof and cold weather up to -10 degrees Celsius.
Although the size of the camera is large, the size of the camera buttons is only slightly larger than the buttons on the Fuji X series camera, so the proportion seems to feel rather small. Although it is very light, Fujifilm does not forget the comfortable grip. The grip for the camera is a little small.
Fujifilm GFX 50S is also equipped with an electronic viewfinder. The 3.69m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder can be used for high-resolution eye displays, and can be paired with an optional tilt adapter to allow work with searchers from various work angles.
On the top panel of the camera, users will find various dial buttons for settings, such as ISO settings and shutter speed. On the right edge of the panel there is now a tiny screen that displays basic settings information, such as shutter speed, apperture, exposure value, and ISO. Turning to the back of the camera, users will find a LCD that is flexible, can be bent up, down, also to the right. This flexibility will be very helpful when users take pictures of landscapes or in the studio.
This is mirrorless with a high price. This camera is equipped with a large 51.4MP 43.4 x 32.9mm CMOS sensor. In addition, the GFX 50S also features an X-Processor Pro. So, this camera can take gamar with very high color sharpness.
Fujifilm itself has used this sensor on Fujifilm X-Pro2 and X-T2 cameras. For X Processor Pro, aside from producing extremely sharp colors, it is also good for those of you who want to take videos. The camera can take videos by recording ultra HD up to 30p.
GFX 50S ISO sensitivity range is also broad, 100-12800, which can be extended to ISO 50-102400. Contrast detection autofocus system that uses 117 points in total, which can then be divided into 425 points.

Mirrorless has a tauchscreen feature on the LCD. Thus, the GFX 50S can determine the auto focus point and bring up the histogram and 3D electronic level when shooting. Also, double-tap the screen to zoom in and slide your finger to the side to view the next image. The LCD can be tilted in several ways. So you can tilt the screen to take pictures with difficult conditions though.
Regarding the lens, Fujifilm has prepared the Fujinon GF series as a partner of the Fujifilm GFX 50S. In total there are six lenses prepared, ranging from the types of prime, wide, macro, to zoom. When released in 2016, three lens variants will be launched simultaneously, namely Fujinon GF 63 mm F2.8 R WR, GF 32-64 mm F4 R LM WR, and Fujinon GF 120 mm F4 Macro R LM OIS WR lens.
